Panagbenga: A Must-Watch Festival in Baguio City

Hola! Your hibernating tour guide is back! It is Tuesday so I’m going to start off with Tuesday Travel. I’ve been missing this travel meme for two weeks. From a particular Facebook group the other day, I’ve seen TT host, Janet Luison soliciting for theme suggestions for the month. Look what these travelers came up with for that…

Here in the Philippines we have an all-year round colorful festivals and cultural events that attract not only foreign but local tourists as well. At any given day, there is sure to be a festival in a town or city somewhere in the Philippines.

Sadly though, not all Filipinos have the means to witness all these celebrations.

But on a lighter side, I am glad that for many years, I’ve been a part of the Davao City’s famous Kadayawan Festival - celebrated every third week of August. (See Kadayawan sa Dabaw 2011 photos) If there’s another Philippine Festival that I’d like to become a part with next, there’s no doubt it is going to be Baguio City’s Panagbenga Festival! In this festival, flowers rule! Its locally acquired name Panagbenga means “a season of blossoming, a time for flowering”. Being one of the most renowned festivals in the country, Panagbenga showcases people's talent, artistry and brilliance through performances.

Ahh--- what more could I say. Like Kadayawan Festival in Davao, Panagbenga is truly a must-watch festival too among festivals in the country!

Anything like a boardwalk, pier, or beach head I love, because it has to do with the sea! Thanks for visiting my blog!
